There are some good reasons for considering an organic approach to the care of your lawn. Reduced pesticide use is always a goal in choosing tactics to manage plant health, including lawns. This can critical in yards that drain to lakes, rivers or ponds. Families with young children and pets might find an organic lawn care program a comforting alternative to more conventional chemical treatments. This is an important method for those who are chemically sensitive.

There are also some good agronomic reasons for taking organic approach to lawn care. Organic fertilizers can add natural, beneficial components to sterile urban/suburban soils that are unavailable with more conventional materials. In challenged lawn environments, such as shade, organic programs have shown improved results.

What are the shortcomings to an organic program? First, organic fertilization requires more, and more expensive materials. Used on an ongoing basis they tend to create a healthier lawn, but they are slower to react and may lack the 'instant' results of more conventional fertilizers. Likewise, weed control requires more patience and has more limitations than when using conventional weed killers.

It's All About Choice :  Our lawn care experts can help you decide whether an fully organic, hybrid or our conventional 'Tree Friendly' program is best suited to your needs.
