Chris Smith, President and CEO, earned a Bachelor's degree in business from Michigan State University.  The son of the company founders, Chris grew up in the business, working on crews throughout high school and college.  He officially joined the company full time in 1975,  assuming responsibility for arboricultural sales and operations.  When the International Society of Arboriculture began certification, Chris became the 4th certified arborist in the state of Michigan.

Stephen Woods is c-owner of Smith Tree and Landscape Service, Inc. He joined the company in 1997. He holds a Bachelor's degree  in Forest Resource Management from Southern Illinois University. His certifications include International Society of Arboriculture Board Certified Master Arborist, and State of Michigan Certified Pesticide Applicator. Stephen’s expertise includes tree and shrub health diagnostics, preservation, maintenance, trimming and removals.

Jeff Dawson has over 30 years of experience with Smith Tree and Landscape Service, Inc.  He received his Associate's degree in Horticulture from Ferris State College in 1976.  Jeff is a Certified Arborist and a member of the Arboricultural Society of Michigan.  He offers practical solutions in all aspects of tree care, with his greatest strengths centering on tree trimming and removal with an upfront honest approach.

Kim Boruszewski joined Smith Tree and Landscape Service, Inc. in 2005 as a Landscape Planner/Designer.  Kim designs both landscape plantings and hardscapes such as patios and walkways.  Her specialty is creating four seasons of landscape interest with complimentary companion plantings that display interesting foliage, eye-catching colors, unique characteristics and easy care.  Kim is a graduate from Michigan State University in the Landscape and Nursery program and also holds a bachelors degree in Communications from Michigan State.  Prior to joining the Smith Tree team, Kim worked at Timber Ridge Golf Course designing, installing, and maintaining the beds and she operated her own design, installation, and plant care business.

Chip Frank joined Smith Tree & Landscape Service, Inc. in 1997 as a Landscape Designer.  His specialties include landscape design, retaining wall and patio construction, water features, landscape lighting, and grading and drainage solutions.  Chip earned his B.S. in Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University in 1989.  Prior to joining Smith Tree & Landscape Service, Inc., Chip spent many years working as an installation foreman and design consultant in New Jersey, Maryland, and West Virginia before moving to Michigan.

Dana Davis is the Lawn Care Division Manager and has been with Smith Tree and Landscape Service, Inc. since 1996.   He holds a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture and Applied Biology from Ferris State University.  A certified arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture, Dana specializes in lawn and landscape management, plant health care and landscape rejuvenation.  He is currently president of the Michigan Sports Turf Managers' Associaiton.

Mary Gwardzinski is the Business Manager and has been with Smith Tree  and Landscape Service, Inc. since 1993.   She earned an Associate’s in Business from Lansing Community College.  Mary is responsible for the accounts payables and accounting.
